INTRODUCTION

Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah is a jurist with a strong academic bent, combining senior appellate adjudicatory experience with sustained engagement in teaching, research, and institutional reform.

During his time on the Supreme Court of Pakistan, he authored over 450 reported judgments and decided more than 5,000 cases, shaping commercial, constitutional, and rights-based jurisprudence. Alongside his judicial work, he emerged as a leading voice in arbitration, mediation, judicial innovation, and the principled use of technology and AI in legal systems.

International & Domestic Arbitration and Mediation

I act as arbitrator and mediator in complex disputes, drawing on sixteen years of judicial experience in commercial and public-policy adjudication.

My jurisprudence reflects a pro-arbitration approach, including support for effective recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards, aligned with international best practice. Alongside this, I have consistently advanced a pro-mediation orientation, treating principled settlement as a core dispute-resolution tool.

As Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court, I established court-annexed mediation and ADR centres across Punjab, institutionalising mediation as a practical and credible pathway for dispute resolution.
